BUSINESS & COMMUNITY LENDERS OF TEXAS
Business & Community Lenders of Texas is a partner with Cuero
Development Corporation in a loan program for eligible local
businesses. The types of loans are primarily working capital,
lease hold improvements, real estate, machinery, construction
and computers as well as furniture and fixtures. Individual
loans can be from $2,000 to $25,000 (maximum) for up to 5 years.
At present the Cuero Small Business Loan Pool has 15 active
accounts. Funding continues to be available to qualified local
businesses.

CHRISTMAS IN CUERO
The lighting of this year's
Christmas in the Park
took place on November 21st and scenes will be on display each
night up through January 1st from 6-10 p.m. Our annual lighted
parade was on November 26th with over 20 units entered. This
year a huge flag has been added in the park along with Santa
riding a Brahma, Santa riding a motorcycle, an animated horse,
a Gobbler, animated Jack-in-the-Box, Victorian Bicycler,
"Main Street Joe," an elf loading a stocking, Mr. & Mrs.
Claus in a pickup, a Golfing Santa, and numerous new snowflakes
in addition to the already great displays of previous years. A
live Nativity, carriage rides and free hot chocolate will be
available on certain nights. Be sure and visit the park for a
fun time and then shop and eat at the many fine establishments
our community has to offer.
CDC COMMUNITY LEADERS MEETING
The Cuero Development Corporation held its monthly Community
Leaders Meeting on Friday, November 4, 2005. This month's guest
speakers were from the Cuero Community Hospital. The speakers
described their new high speed CT Scanner and the importance
of this new piece of equipment to the healthcare community.

are held the first Friday
of each month at 7:00 a.m. at the Cuero
State Bank Community Room, 121 E. Courthouse St.

WHAT'S CDC WORKING ON NOW?
In our last edition we listed some of CDC's accomplishments over
the past several years. Following is a list of projects that will
be funding by CDC during this next year or into the future.
- Public restroom to be built on Main Street
- Funding for Keep Cuero Beautiful for Municipal Park work
- Commercial and Historic District paving, water and sewer
infrastructure work, electrical upgrades, drainage work,
parking lot creation and handicap accessibility improvements
- Funding for purchase of trailers for transporting and storing
Christmas in the Park scenes
- Partnering with Business & Community Lenders in the Small Business Loan Pool
- Park beautification projects including fencing and signage
- Highway signage directing visitors to the CDC office
- Marketing and international business incentive projects
