CHRISTMAS IN CUERO
It's not too early to begin thinking about Christmas when lots
of work has to be done in the Municipal Park to get ready for
this year's holiday season. We are adding 14 new scenes this
year. The December Events Committee, ad hoc group of the CDC,
needs help from many individuals to set up scenes in the park
on two community work days. Those days are Saturday, October
22nd and Saturday, October 29th. If you can help set up scenes,
check light bulbs, lay out electrical cords, etc. we need you.
If you can assist on either of these days, please give the CDC
office a call at (361) 275-8178 and we will put you in touch
with the committee who will be coordinating the work in the
park. We will also need volunteers to work 2 hours shifts
collecting donations as people tour the park. These work nights
will begin in late November and run through December. If you can
help, call CDC.

SMALL BUSINESS LOAN POOL
Business and Community Lenders of Texas (BCL), has partnered
with Cuero Development Corporation for the past several years
in creating and administering a loan program for Cuero businesses.
This program has very competitive interest rates and loans are
made from $2,000 up to $25,000 to be used for working capital
inventory, real estate, machinery, construction, computers,
furniture, fixtures and other needs for creating a new business
or expanding a current operation. Over a dozen local businesses
are currently involved in the program and many more have used this
opportunity. A pre-application is the initial step, and if approved,
the completed version is then sent to BCL for their review and
approval. These applications are available at the CDC office,
207 E. Main Street.
