CDC ACQUIRES INDUSTRIAL BUILDING

The Cuero Development Corporation recently acquired an attractive 56,000 sq. ft. building available for occupancy. This building, located off U.S. Hwy. 87, would be ideal for manufacturing or distribution. The site has existing utilities and can handle a high electrical load. There is also land available for expansion on site.

Cuero is strategically located within a 3-hour drive of 8 million people. It is within the Austin-San Antonio-Houston triangle and is only 4 hours from the Mexican border. Cuero is a small city with big ideas!

For more information or to view the building, please contact Diana Blank, Director of Economic Development, at (361) 275-8178 or Email at cueroed@dewittec.net.

DECEMBER EVENTS COMMITTEE SEEKS VOLUNTEERS

Cuero's "Christmas in the Park" has grown by leaps and bounds since its inception in December 2000 with a few light-wrapped trees. The display now offers over 40 scenes and more and more people from all over Texas as well as other states visit each year.

"Many hands make for light work" is an old adage that applies to "Christmas in the Park." With that thought in mind, the December Events Committee (DEC) is inviting the public to become part of the "Christmas in the Park" crew.

Volunteers can commit to as much or as little time as they wish. The DEC plans to start setting up mid to late September. There's no job that's too large or too small for anyone, from testing light bulbs in the many scenes, floodlights, placing signs, to setting up the large lighted scenes.

The next DEC meeting is scheduled for August 10 at 5:30 p.m. at the Cuero Development Corporation's meeting room.

Cuero Development Corporation is located in the Cuero Public Library building at 207 E. Main. Individuals who like to volunteer, but cannot attend the DEC meetings, should contact the DEC for a schedule of workdays.

Join the DEC and experience the joy and pleasure of bringing the Christmas Spirit to Cuero and the surrounding areas.

Tour groups are also welcome to begin plans to visit "Christmas in the Park." Short videos are available from the office of the Cuero Development Corporation (361) 275-8178 or to schedule a day outing with a tour guide contact JoAnn Edge at (361) 275-2125.

For more information please contact the Cuero Development Corporation at (361) 275-8178, Kay Lewis at (361) 275-1222 or Jim Hedrick at (361) 799-9398.
