CHRISTMAS IN CUERO UPDATE
The hustle and bustle of holiday excitement has been in the air in
Cuero. There has been an addition of several new scenes in the
lighted driving tour in the Municipal Park. A live Nativity scene
and traditional horse drawn carriage rides have also been available
this year. The December Events Committee also hosted the second
annual lighted holiday parade November 27.
Christmas in the Park opened November 22 and runs through January 2
open nightly from 6-10 p.m. There is no admission fee, but donations
are accepted and help the event continue to grow.
There have been in excess of 7,500 visitors through the Cuero
Municipal Park during the first four weeks of being open. The
driving tour includes numerous lighted silhouette scenes on display
throughout the park. The entrance into the park is located off of
Hwy. 87 South toward Victoria. Eight foot nutcrackers and
directional signs point the way (near the GVEC offices). All traffic
through the park is one-way.
Historic Downtown has also been laced in lights. Main Street draped
with garland and wreaths and decorations have been added near the
downtown gazebo in the library courtyard. Don't miss the opportunity
to shop Cuero's unique and friendly shops in Historic Downtown and
throughout Cuero.
The December Events Committee is seeking new active members and
will begin disassembly January 3. Orders for new scenes and
decorations for next year's display will be placed soon after the
New Year. Please contact the CDC office at the phone or e-mail
listed below for more information on joining the committee for
sponsoring scenes for December 2005.

FREE CREDIT REPORTS ONLINE
A new online consumer credit resource is available as of December at
www.AnnualCreditReport.com.
The site will offer congressionally
mandated free credit reports (one per year from each of the three
national credit bureaus, Equifax, Experian and TransUnion) and will
offer extensive tools to help monitor credit files to assist in
guarding against identification theft.
This resource is also accessible by phone at 877-322-8228 and by
mail at P.O. Box 105291, Atlanta, Georgia, 30348-5281. Consumers
should be able to go to AnnualCreditReport.com starting now,
however, eligibility for free annual credit reports will be phased
in over the next ten months on a schedule moving from the Western
region to the East Coast. Consumers who are not yet eligible can
link to each of the credit bureaus' own websites and order reports
for a small fee. These credit reports do not need to be ordered
simultaneously. Detailed information will be required, however, no
credit card or bank account numbers will be required.
