A couple of local jobs in San Marcos, Luling, and Brownwood, led Joe to State employment in Austin and then on to State employment in Phoenix, Arizona.
Joe’s first job as a regional council executive director began in 1993 in Bisbee, Arizona (his region was the southeastern 16,000 sq. mi. of Arizona) for 11 years and then on to Victoria, Texas in 2004 until the present.
Joe has been active in regional development throughout his career, serving on the board of directors of the National Association of Development Organizations since 1994 and as President of that organization from 2002 to 2003.
Joe, wife Mary, and two very, very, very smart dogs (Ricky and Lucy) live in Victoria. Joe has announced his retirement effective January 3, 2020. He and Mary (and dogs) will be staying in Victoria as a base to explore the USA according to navigation by ”Co-navigators” Ricky and Lucy.
