Clarence N. Stevenson Unit Senior Warden Corey Furr

Corey Furr was born in Ft. Hood, Texas in February 1971. Along with his spouse Katrice Lynn, they have four children ranging from the ages of 16-30 in their blended family.

Warden Furr began his career in January 1990 with the Great State of Texas at the H.H. Coffield Unit as a Correctional Officer assigned to General Population. From there, an administrative reassignment was approved and in 1991 he was transferred to the Christina Melton Crain Unit working the MROP Satellite known as the “Valley Unit” at that time. In 1994, he was promoted to Sergeant of Correctional Officers at the H.H. Coffield Unit. In July of 1995, he was promoted to Lieutenant of Correctional Officers and enjoyed the privilege of opening up a brand new facility in Kenedy, Texas, named the John B. Connally Unit. In 2012, he was promoted to Captain of Correctional Officers for the Eastham Unit in Lovelady, Texas, and approximately six years later, he promoted to Major of Correctional Officers at the William R. Boyd Unit in Teague, Texas. In March 2015, he then was promoted to Assistant Warden in Beeville, Texas at the William G. McConnell Unit. In June 2018, he was then selected and promoted to Senior Warden of the Tulia Transfer Facility in Tulia, Texas. From there, in March 2019, he received a Senior Warden promotional step ladder and moved to Cuero, Texas as the Senior Warden for the Clarence N. Stevenson Unit.
