Jerod Fikac, Cuero ISD Athletic Director and Head Coach

Jerod Fikac was officially named Head Coach and Athletic Director at Cuero ISD by unanimous approval on Thursday, March 24th 2022. Fikac was born and raised in Shiner, Texas, and also spent time in Amarillo during high school when his mother was superintendent of the River Road School District. While there, he excelled in baseball and was honored as the outstanding baseball player by the Panhandle Sports Hall of Fame in 1998.

Fikac’s new position with Gobbler Football will be the start of his sixth season as a head coach. From 2004 to 2011, he was a member of the coaching staff at Wimberley (a 4A school) which won the state titles in 2007 and 2011. He coached at San Saba (2A) during the 2017 season, and was twice recognized by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football as iCoach Inspirational Coach of the Week, and was subsequently named Texas High School Coach of the Year by Texas Football. He has been Head Coach and Athletic Director at Georgetown East View (5A) for the past three seasons.

Coach Fikac will be the guest speaker for the Friday, May 13th 2022 Community Leaders’ Meeting to be held at the City of Cuero Council Chambers at 7:30AM.
