The Cuero Independent School District is "Committed to Excellence." The mission of the Cuero ISD is to graduate all students who are guaranteed a curriculum, enriched by local resources that prepare them to become responsible, successful citizens of the world community. Cuero has been recognized as an Exemplary Education School District and has been noted as a Mentor School. Private

St. Michael's Catholic School is coed and welcomes students of all races, creeds and national origin. It offers classes beginning at age three and pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. The smaller classes specialize in individualized teaching in a wholesome Catholic/Christian environment. The school also offers an extended day program for families who need child supervision until 5:30 p.m. One of the goals of St. Michael's school is the creation of an "Intentional Christian Community," which fosters a sense of justice, reverence for God, and respect for our fellow humans.

Area Universities and Colleges

Victoria College is located 28 miles away. The mission of Victoria College is to create and provide high quality educational programs and services, which fulfill the needs of the individual and the community for intellectual growth, workforce training, and cultural enrichment. It offers two programs of study: Academic Transfer Plans and 1 and 2 Year Training Programs. There are 27 Academic Transfer Plans Programs offered at Victoria College. The 1 and 2 Year Programs are Technical Training Programs. Victoria College offers divisions of Allied Health Care and Workforce Development and Education. University of Houston - Victoria is also located 28 miles from Cuero. The University shares with all institutions of high education the universal mission of teaching, research and service. The University's most distinctive commitment is to make higher education accessible to students who might otherwise lack the opportunity. It's most compelling commitment is to make the quality of education nonetheless competitive. It serves students who have completed two or more years of college providing bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and professional certification programs.
