Private Schools

St. Michael’s Catholic School is coed and welcomes students of all races, creeds and national origin. It offers classes beginning at age three and pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. The smaller classes specialize in individualized teaching in a wholesome Catholic/Christian environment. The school also offers an extended day program for families who need child supervision until 5:30 p.m. One of the goals of St. Michael’s school is the creation of an “Intentional Christian Community,” which fosters a sense of justice, reverence for God, and respect for our fellow humans. Area Skilled Trade Training Programs

The Associated Builders & Contractors, Inc., Mid Coast Construction Academy (MCA) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Its mission is to promote and educate students and jobseekers about the construction industry and develop skilled labor through pre-apprenticeships and apprenticeships. The Academy will prepare students with career-ready job skills to enter the workforce with confidence. The attained skills will promote local and regional job growth that pay wages that are at least equal to the prevailing wage for the applicable occupation in the local labor market area. This program will provide students with job-related skills that will enable unemployed individuals to obtain employment. The target market is students enrolled in schools in Bee, Calhoun, DeWitt, Goliad, Jackson, Lavaca, Refugio, and Victoria Counties, as well as the public seeking education opportunities. Victoria College is a public, open‐admission college located 28 miles from Cuero in the city of Victoria, Texas. The mission of Victoria College is to provide educational opportunities and services for its students and the communities it serves. The University of Houston – Victoria is also located 28 miles from Cuero in the city of Victoria, Texas. UHV is a dynamic destination university in the Coastal Bend Region of Texas. It offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in four schools: Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Education and Human Development, and Nursing. Fully-online programs complement face-to-face programs and allow convenient access for UHV’s traditional and non-traditional students.
