Back in the Saddle: CTHM Welcomes You!

Our doors are open for visitors to our permanent exhibits, “Ranching Heritage of the Guadalupe River Valley,” and “Horsemen of the Americas: Tinker Collection.” And, we are proud to announce the addition of a handsome collection of Texas spurs, featuring local master craftsmen.

Summer Camps at CTHM

Cowboy Camp, August 4–7, (ages 7 to 12), and Lil’ Cowpoke Camp, August 18–20 (ages 3 to 5), are enrolling young buckaroos! To sign up, call the Museum at 361-277-2866.

English German School Open House, August 27, 2020

Join us Friday, August 27, 2020, from 4:00pm to 5:30pm on the EGS grounds. Chuck wagon, blacksmithing, and more! EGS provides an authentic setting for heritage enrichment.

Open House is free and open to all.

Upcoming Special Exhibits, October 8, 2020

Two Women Look West, featuring images of the famed King Ranch by Helen Kleberg and society photographer Toni Frissell, and a special exhibit, Family of John T. Wofford: A South Texas Legacy, will be on view October 8 – November 1, 2020.

Taste of the Trail is On! November 7, 2020

Join us for our legendary live and silent auctions, delicious party food and drinks at the Cardwell Flats Cantina, and musical guest Gary P. Nunn! The “ranch casual” gala is scheduled for November 7, 2020, at Bellevue Ranch. Get tables and tickets at 361-277-2866.

Free and Give-As-You-Can Admission

To allow more families to visit during the current economic uncertainty, we have relaxed admission charges until July 31, 2020.

  • Children 17 and younger: Free
  • Museum members and members of the military: Free
  • All other guests: Free

Health Guidelines

  • Face masks are required for CTHM staff, and strongly encouraged for adult visitors (subject to change per local health code). Masks are available for guests upon request, and hand sanitizer is placed throughout the Museum.
  • 8 guests admitted to the Museum at one time, to maintain physical distancing.
  • Museum staff clean and disinfect touch surfaces hourly.
  • If you are experiencing symptoms of the virus, please do not visit the Museum.
