The Cuero Development Corporation (CDC) is proud to announce that it has been honored with two Excellence in Economic Development Awards from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). At a ceremony during the IEDC Annual Conference earlier in October, the CDC was presented with Silver 2021 Excellence Awards in two categories, one for Digital Media and one for Innovation Programs and Initiatives.

The Excellence in Digital Media Award recognizes the successful PinPoint Digital Campaign, which has been instrumental in drawing several new businesses to the city of Cuero. The Excellence in Innovation Programs and Initiatives Award recognizes the CDC’s grant programs, particularly two COVID-relief programs which allocated a total of $600,000, and to date have awarded $506,000 to just over 100 Cuero businesses impacted by the pandemic in 2020 through 2021.

IEDC’s Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognize the world’s best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials, and the year’s most influential leaders. Twenty-five award categories honor organizations and individuals for their efforts in creating positive change in urban, suburban, and rural communities. Awards are judged by a diverse panel of economic and community developers, following a nomination process held earlier this year. IEDC received over 500 submissions from 4 countries.
