Patrick J. Kennedy, Executive Director of the Cuero Development Corporation, chats with Carolyn Gibson, President of the Association of Rural Communities in Texas, at the ARCIT 2019 Annual Conference currently being held in Georgetown, Texas. Some topics of discussion during the 3-day conference include the state of the rural Texas economy, property taxes, healthcare infrastructure, cyber security management, broadband connectivity, and the future of hemp farming in Texas. This year’s program features presentations by such state and local officials and agencies as Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and the Texas Department of Agriculture, as well as such industry representatives and sponsors as McLane Intelligent Solutions and CP&Y Engineering. The conference held at the Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel & Conference Center opened Tuesday morning, September 24th and wraps on Thursday, September 26th.
