Executive Director Maggie J. Cromeens grew up in Cuero and attended St. Michael’s Catholic school and graduated from Cuero High School, and is glad to be back in her hometown. She lived in San Antonio for 17 years where she worked the majority of her career in Vocational Rehabilitation. Maggie owned her own business where she contracted with the state government and helped individuals with disabilities return to the workforce. She has developed regional and national programs that helped individuals retain, maintain and thrive in their employment. Maggie is a staunch advocate of disability rights. Maggie served on the City of San Antonio’s council for disability accessibility and was appointed by her councilman and Mayor. Maggie has over 21years of experience in the public, private and non-profit sectors. Prior to coming to Cuero, she worked for the Texas Workforce Commission-Vocational Rehabilitation.

You will usually find Maggie with an unsweet tea and trail mix nearby. She’s always ready to listen to good music and isn’t afraid to put in the work to make Cuero the true heart of South Texas.

Maggie and her husband Brian have three young children, Hayes, Libby and Ruby. She has a BA in Public Relations from The University of Texas-San Antonio.

Samantha Bayfus is a graduate of Cuero High School. She served as Executive Director of the Educational Foundation at Cuero Independent School District for several years prior to joining the Cuero Development Corporation.
